How does the number of guests change the price?
Most private chef menus on UpChef are priced per person, and each menu sets a minimum and a maximum number of guests. The chef’s price is the price per person times the number of guests, plus any add-ons you choose. For a larger event you can also message a chef and ask for an offer.
Example: 6 guests at €150 per person = €900 for the chef, + €63 service fee (7%) + €12.60 tax on the fee (20%) = €975.60 in total.
Does UpChef add fees?
UpChef adds a service fee of 7% at checkout, calculated on the chef’s price and any add-ons. Tax applies to that fee only (20% of the fee), not to the chef’s price. You see the total before you pay.
What if I need to cancel?
- Within 10 minutes of paying: 100% refund.
- 7 or more days before the event: 100% refund, service fee included.
- Less than 7 days before the event: no refund.
- If the chef cancels: 100% refund.
Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.
