UpChef connects people who want private dining at home with independent chefs who can cook for dinners, celebrations, corporate events, and meal prep. It is a marketplace because customers compare chefs, menus, messages, and offers before booking.

It is also a professional platform for chefs. Chefs use UpChef to present menus, control availability, manage customer communication, receive booking requests, and organize their private-chef business from one place.

Customers can browse chef profiles and menus, or post a request with date, location, guest count, cuisine, and dietary needs. Chefs can then respond with offers, menus, or clarifying questions through the platform.

Before booking, customers and chefs can message each other to adjust the menu and confirm details. Where platform booking is supported, payment is handled through UpChef and the booking is managed in the app.

Chefs can join UpChef for free. UpChef charges chefs 0% UpChef commission on their listed service price, so chefs set their own menus, pricing, schedule, and service area.

UpChef makes money through a 7% customer service fee shown at checkout. That fee supports the marketplace, booking flow, customer-chef communication, payment handling where supported, and platform operations.

Chefs upload identity information and culinary or work-experience proof. UpChef reviews verification before chefs can take paid bookings, so customers are not relying on an open, unmanaged directory.

In Stripe-supported markets, Stripe Connect onboarding is also required before accepting paid bookings. In Saudi Arabia and the UAE, verification includes manual review of identity and culinary or experience documentation.
