My wife's 40th was always going to be a nightmare to host. Booked a chef through the app instead of a restaurant and it was the best decision of the year. Twelve of us, a tasting menu, and I actually got to talk to my own guests.

We wanted a proper Diwali dinner but none of us had the time to cook for twenty. The chef brought the whole feast, set it all out beautifully, and stayed to serve. My mum, who criticises everyone's cooking, had nothing to say.
